Dissertation

This report is about thermal infrared cameras and their usage on the building industrys’ field. It gives an overview of the history of thermal imaging equipment and explains the working principle of a thermal imaging camera in simple terms. In addition, there is an explanation of the nature of infrared radiation. The report is mainly based on information found on various websites (mentioned in the list of reference), but also on two inerviews with representatives of comapanies dealing with termal imaging service in Estonia. Moreover, there is some information of an experimental measuring that took place on the VIA University Colleges’ property in November 2009. The report is also enriched with colorful pictures and charts.
